Judie Bailey and I have had our share of tournament bonanzas. Notably that
Rochester Regional in 2015 when we won on the B level in the knock-outs. But
Saturday does not add another happy chapter to our history.
Playing
in the big game, the double session pairs, we have a semi-respectable morning –
49.02% – although it falls three percentage points short of a payoff.
We
falter badly in the afternoon, however. I’m ready to take Judie to task for
failing to cash out a long Diamond suit in the dummy on a hand where she goes
down one, but it turns out that it’s only one bump in a whole stretch of bad
road. 41.2%.
